Torrevieja is about 42 kilometres from Alicante airport. The transfer along the N-332 or the motorway takes around 35 minutes, a little longer in summer and at rush hour.
Torrevieja and La Mata
The town has a long seafront promenade, town beaches such as Playa del Cura and Los Locos, and La Mata beach to the north. Close by are the salt lakes of the La Mata and Torrevieja Natural Park, known for their pink water. Around the centre there are dozens of urbanisations, home to a large international community.
