Guardamar del Segura is about 30 kilometres south of Alicante airport. The drive along the N-332 takes around 25 minutes.
Guardamar, dunes and pine forest
The town is known for its sand dunes and the pine forest around them, planted in the early 20th century to hold back the sand. It has several kilometres of beach, including Playa Centro, La Roqueta, El Moncayo and Babilonia, and the mouth of the river Segura.
